Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada just announced changes to the requirements for International Experience Canada candidates in the Working Holiday pools.

Fully vaccinated IEC candidates no longer need to submit proof of a valid job offer to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Working Holiday pool.

Our office received the official information from IRCC regarding the changes:

”As of September 7th, 2021, IEC candidates who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to submit proof of a valid job offer to receive an Invitation to Apply for IEC’s Working Holiday pool. Instead, IEC candidates will be asked to show proof of vaccination when they arrive at a Canadian border. Any job offers submitted to the IEC program will no longer be considered.

IEC candidates who are not fully vaccinated must have proof of a valid job offer when they arrive at a Canadian border to enter Canada and will still be subject to quarantine measures.

As of September 13, 2021, IEC will begin random draws in order to send out Invitations to Apply. If you receive an invitation and are not ready to come to Canada at this time, you can decline your invitation. Declining an invitation will not affect your chances of receiving an invitation in the future. You will stay in the IEC pool of candidates (as long as you are still eligible) for future rounds of invitations.

If you receive an invitation to apply and choose to accept it, it is your responsibility to make sure that you meet the requirements to enter Canada.”

This is great news for all the candidates looking to come and work in Canada through IEC!
